Outreach and Missions
From our very beginning, New Life has supported Christ’s Kingdom work in our area and around the world. Many of our own members have been involved in cross-cultural ministry through short-term projects and by long-term missionary service. We support Christian workers primarily in the Mediterranean region and Europe.
Ministries that New Life currently supports in our own region include:
AlphaCare
Bethany Christian Services
Christ the King Brazilian Church Plant
Eastern PA Presbytery Church Planting
Harvest USA
Young Life
Many of our members are personally involved in significant ministries in their daily lives.
ESL Ministry in Northeast Philadelphia.
In partnership with Northeast Community Church, we provide almost half of the staff that weekly teaches English as a second language to immigrants in that part of the city. This provides practical aid to help immigrants find jobs and function in our society, as well as a witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Click here to watch a video detailing the ministry.
Resurrection Offering
New Life has a special relationship with a number of word and deed ministries that reach out to underserved populations both in our region and globally. Besides providing them opportunities to share their vision with us, we also take a significant annual offering the week before Easter to support them financially. We also have individuals and groups who visit and serve with these ministries as there is opportunity. CLICK HERE to view the 2020 Resurrection Offering Booklet for more information.
Children’s Jubilee Fund distributes tuition scholarships for low-income urban children to attend 22 different Christian schools in the Philadelphia Region.
Grounds for Restoration generates funds through sales of high-quality free trade coffee to support restoration of survivors of trafficking and violent abuse, while helping customers to understand, recognize, and help eradicate modern-day slavery. GFR was founded by members of New Life and supports efforts in Pennsylvania.
GROW Northeast provides English language lessons to adult immigrants in Northeast Philadelphia that enable students to find employment and conduct official business. Building caring relationships is a major emphasis. Click here to watch a video detailing the ministry.
Kianga Kids provides medical screening and care for children and the mothers in city slums or remote areas of Kenya. Kenyan workers provide training in nutrition, hygiene, first aid and disease prevention and provide resources for those with identified problems. Whosoever Gospel Mission ministers to the minds, hearts, and spirits of needy homeless men – many coming out of addiction. The long-term New Life residential program provides meals, lodging, clothes, counseling, job training, work experience, and Bible studies.
New Life’s Outreach and Missions ministries are coordinated by the Global Ministries Team and divided into three teams focused on local ministries, global outreach, and support for Christian workers with whom we are connected.
