Praying for the Kingdom

Ron Lutz ~ Matthew 6:9-13   Sermon Quotes: Matthew 6:9-13 9 Pray then like this: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. 10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread, 12 and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” -Matthew 4:17 He presented himself alive to them after his suffering by many proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking about the kingdom of God. -Acts 1:3 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. -Matthew 6:33 Westminster Shorter Catechism, 102 Q: What do we pray for in the second petition? A: In the second petition (which is, Thy kingdom come) we pray, That Satan’s kingdom may be destroyed; and that the kingdom of grace may be advanced, ourselves and others brought into it, and kept in it; and that the kingdom of glory may be hastened. This is how I am going to change the world: • I will put others ahead of myself • I will love my enemies • I will sacrifice for others • I will not repay evil for evil • I will overcome evil with good • I will give up my power and my life
