A Ministry of Our Youth, Not Just to Our Youth
New Life Student Ministries are ministries of our youth. We seek to equip our students for ministry and to encourage them to find the particular ministries to which God is calling them. We are not working to give our students a safe place to hang out. This ministry is about encouraging our youth to take risks and rely heavily on Jesus as we study His Word, learn about prayer, live in community together, and serve the people around us. There is no such thing as safe Christian community because we do not serve a safe God. Our students will learn and grow in their relationship with Jesus as they are encouraged to live in unity with Him and each other.

Vision for Student Ministry
New Life Dresher’s Youth Ministry exists to create a community that serves as a resource for families where both covenant children and their unchurched peers in grades 6-12 will encounter Jesus, be grounded in His good news, and be equipped to face the challenges of teenage and young adult life.
We Take Child Protection Seriously
Youth Ministry at New Life Dresher is committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where students in 6th–12th grade can grow in their understanding of God’s promises through Jesus Christ. Our programs are designed to encourage meaningful friendships, authentic faith conversations, and mentoring relationships with caring adult leaders who model Christ-centered living.
All youth leaders complete background checks and are annually approved by the elders of the church to ensure a secure and supportive setting for every student.

At New Life, we want to protect some of the most vulnerable people in our community – our children. Here’s what we are committed to doing well:
• Fulfill the PA state law by requiring all paid staff to submit to criminal, child abuse registry and FBI fingerprint checks. Checks are renewed for each staff member every 5 years.
• Fulfill the PA state law by requiring all paid staff to take state mandated training to be aware of child abuse issues and fulfill their mandated reporting duties should there be suspected child abuse.
• Require volunteers in our Sunday School, Children’s Church, Kids Clubs, and Youth groups to have attended New Life six months or more and have an oral interview by a staff member regarding their fitness to serve in the position they are seeking.
• Require approval of all volunteers annually by our Session (board of elders).
• Fulfill the PA state law by requiring children and youth volunteers to submit to criminal and child abuse registry background checks, as well as an FBI fingerprint check if they have not lived in PA for the last 10 consecutive years. Checks are renewed once every 5 years.
• Require all volunteers to take training to be aware of child abuse and fulfill their mandated reporting duties should there be suspected child abuse
• Require all our volunteers to receive and read New Life’s Child Protection Policies and Procedures. We expect them to follow the procedures as outlined there.
• We use a check in system which provides unique sticker codes so that children can only be released to authorized adults from Sunday morning or evening activities.
