Worship is a faith response of the whole person to the revelation of who God is and what he has done. It is a submission of ourselves in thankfulness to God and a declaration of his incomparable worth. Therefore our worship must be built on the truth of God’s Word as it proclaims to us the nature and character of our Triune God. Every component of worship must either expound the revelation of God’s Word or be a response or exhortation to respond to his revelation.
Worship is celebratory as we proclaim Christ’s victory over sin and death to one another
Worship is participatory as the whole congregation and many different leaders encourage each other to praise and worship God personally. No one is a spectator.
Worship engages the the whole person: mind, will, and emotions
Worship is geared to be accessible to diverse traditions and to different generations. No one style precludes others.
Worship is life-changing because it is a genuine encounter with the God of the universe who has given His Son for our salvation. We can’t help but be changed by the encounter.
