Dear Church Family,
As you probably know, Ralph Unks, a member of our congregation, has been confined to a wheel chair after a catastrophic aneurysm many years ago. Ralph and Nancy Unks are entirely dependent upon social security and the generosity of the church body.
The Unks 15 year old wheel chair accessible van is in immediate need of replacement. This is their only vehicle, and is essential for transporting Ralph to and from physician visits, church, and other venues. They are also in need of funds for repairs around the house and additional equipment to help move Ralph.
Would you prayerfully consider helping out Ralph and Nancy? Nancy has identified a used wheel chair accessible van for $35,000. It is our hope that we can raise as much as possible to cover this cost and other repairs around the house.
Please make your check payable to NLD. In the Memo portion of the check, please write “Unks Van”. Because this is a donation designated for an individual, it is not tax deductible. You can mail the check in or simply place it in the Sunday offering.
While the aneurysm has robbed Ralph of his motor abilities, his cognitive functions are still intact. If you haven’t already, please introduce yourself to Ralph and Nancy when you see them at church. Ralph enjoys meeting new people even though he can’t communicate verbally.
May the Lord be glorified in our service to and sacrifice for each other.
