Who We Are: A Brief History of New Life Dresher

Ambassadors of the Gospel

Each week the church bulletin reminds worshipers at New Life Church of our mission: "Relying on the power of Jesus Christ, we are called to be ambassadors of His gospel that changes lives, shapes community and compels us outward." Throughout our church history we have shared Christ with others and drawn them into our fellowship.

A History of Growth

From New Life Fort Washington's beginning in 1987 as a "daughter church" of the then Jenkintown New Life congregation, we have always had outreach and growth as primary goals. We grew quickly and expanded our ministry to even far-reaching areas of Montgomery and Bucks Counties. In the fall of 1991, Peace Valley Church, a daughter church of our own, was formed. We worshiped for a time at the current location of congregation Or Hadash in Fort Washington. When that property was sold, our congregation began renting space at Philmont Christian Academy in Erdenheim. We worshipped there for 11 years, while simultaneously searching for a permanent home. In spring 2001, we purchased property that covers 7.5 acres along Limekiln Pike in Dresher. Planning and building began. The completion of the project was realized on October 15, 2006, when we celebreated our first worship service in our new facility. God has been good to us!

Compelled Outward

In the fall of 2002, we sent out some of our members to start liberti Church, whose ministry serves the Kelly Drive corridor of Philadelphia.

We are also part of CityNet Ministries, a local network of churches in the Philadelphia area. CityNet exists to promote church planting and urban ministries, as well as mercy ministry and other local projects.
